We are seeking a Project Controls Lead to support a major mining project located near Kamloops, British Columbia. Initially working during the Detailed Design phase out of Vancouver, this role will transition to a site-based rotation during the construction phase. Reporting functionally to the Manager, Cost Control, and operationally to the Project Controls Manager, this role is responsible for establishing and maintaining effective cost control practices in alignment with corporate and project standards.
Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership and direction to the project controls team, ensuring consistent service delivery across active projects.
Support project managers and senior leadership with program-wide project controls guidance.
Develop and manage the Project Controls team’s fiscal objectives, including revenue growth tracking and reporting.
Assess and enhance current project controls systems, tools, and practices, recommending improvements aligned with industry standards.
Evaluate project needs to design and implement tailored Project Controls Plans, including resource planning and team structuring.
Lead the development of Project Master Baseline Schedules and implement monitoring frameworks to ensure on-time project completion.
Oversee work breakdown structure development, cost estimation, scheduling, budgeting, reporting, and documentation control.
Experience & Technical Expertise
Minimum 10 years of experience in Project Controls, preferably within a Construction or Engineering firm.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage the integration of project cost, schedule, and reporting functions.
Expertise in:
Work breakdown structure (WBS) development
Cost estimation and budget control
Schedule development and analysis
Document control and reporting
Proficient in Primavera P6 for schedule creation, tracking, and analysis.
