This Utilization Review LPN position is located at the North Carolina Correctional Institution for Women (NCCIW), Health Care Facility in Raleigh, NC. NCCIW is the state's primary correctional facility for women. It houses the largest female offender population in the state and serves as the support facility for the state's other female offenders. This facility houses up to 1700 of minimum, medium and close custody female offenders. The Healthcare Facility employees approximately 260 full time employees.
The duties and responsibilities of the UR Licensed Practical Nurse include receiving and processing consultation request's in the electronic medical record and OPUS, scheduling outside appointments for offenders with specialty providers; monitoring and tracking UR requests to ensure action is taken in a timely manner; communicating with internal and outside providers on a daily basis to ensure continuity of care; submitting reports of pending UR requests; communicating with custody staff to arrange transportation for offenders to appointments; monitoring outside movement screen and relaying to custody, supervisor and medical director regarding adjustments required, develop and providing direct supervision of staff in the UR department.
