Payrate: $49.00 - $50.00/hr.

Summary:

The main responsibilities of this position include the programming and maintaining of a Tableau based Data Analysis Environment for calibration related function development. The focus is to program an existing tool within a new software environment to allow generic, and company-wide usage including maintenance programs. This requires interaction not only with other SW Tool development engineers but also exchange with technical experts to ensure the newly created SW Tool will deliver the output as needed by the engineering teams.

Responsibilities:

Develop, program, and maintain software tool solution for a more effective vehicle testing and development analysis, and reporting.

Develop, program, and maintain software individual R/D-testing data analysis reports for powertrain development teams.

Evaluate faults and lead problem-solving activities, including 1st level analysis and collaboration with technical experts in MB AG

Supporting internal Key Process Indicators for local MBRDNA and Company's Management to monitor the status and help forecast the necessary future.

Active participation in continuous process improvements for internal and external processes.

Education:

Bachelor's degree with emphasis in Engineering or Computer Science

Experience in engineering R&D, and software development field of minimum 3 years, preferably in the automotive industry.

Master's degree with emphasis in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent

Skills:

Automotive Knowledge: Knowledge of current automobile technology, vehicle electrical and onboard diagnostics and communication architectures, assembly structure, modules and parts. General knowledge of vehicle functions.

Programming Skills: Knowledge and experience with programming and coding in multiple languages, including Python, JavaScript, SQL, database programming, MATLAB, and MS Excel VBA. Data base knowledge, Data structures and algorithms, testing procedures, debugging knowledge, Operating systems, Text editing software are must haves for a software developer's skills

Project Management Skills: Ability to control projects from conceptualization to implementation. Clear understanding of key performance indicators and effective reporting.

Interpersonal and Team skills: Experience in an intercultural environment. Experience in a complex organization structure.

Analytic or systems engineering Knowledge: ability to identify issues, analyze and evaluate problems, develop solutions and scenarios, evaluate alternative solutions based on established criteria and decision making.

Organization and leadership skills: Ability to organize workflows within the Tech Center and with all external partners, especially with the durability service suppliers.

Analytic or systems engineering knowledge: Experience, or willingness to learn, the troubleshooting of data-logger equipment and database systems to identify logger issues and to analyze and determine failure root causes and find solutions.

Soft skills for software developers: communication, problem solving, critical thinking, analytical mindset, adaptability, time management, accountability, persistence and patience, emotional intelligence

Top Must Have:

Multiple coding languages, Data base knowledge, Data structures and algorithms, testing procedures, Debugging knowledge, Operating systems, Text editing software

Very good comprehension of complex and complicated project and vehicle-specific issues.

Excellent technical communication in general - oral, meetings, emails, phone calls.

Ability to think out-of-the-box and high willpower to push the team forward through optimizing solution approaches.

Top 3 must-have hard skills:

Coding Experience (data brick, python, SQL, and visualizing content in Tableau)

Powertrain and E-drive train

General automotive knowledge

Pay Transparency: The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $49.00 - $50.00/hr. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience and the benefits package you select. Full-time employees are eligible to select from different benefits packages.
