Warehouse Operative (Shipping Department)

Job Description

1st Shift - Warehouse Operative (Shipping Dept.) $18-$20/hr - Byron Center, MI

Preferred Skills:

Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or loaded on to trucks.

Experience in a Shipping role minimum of 1 year

Conveys materials and items from production areas to shipping area to load on trucks

Ensures that all packages are labeled appropriately.

Loads all materials on trucks for shipping.

Marks materials with identifying information

Handles paperwork for inventory control and accounting.

Performs final quality control inspection.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to lift and/or move up to 100lbs frequently

Accurate tape measuring and ability to properly read it

Basic use of decimals along with addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division skills with or without use of a calculator.

Operates hi-lo to meet warehouse and production needs.

Follows safety and hazardous material guidelines including fueling and maintenance of hi-lo.

Must be able to read, write, and comprehend English. This is a requirement for work instructions and documentation purposes.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

In this role you will be responsible for preparing and shipping material and products within warehouse and production areas. The foam that you will be moving and preparing is used in furniture and for packing finished goods for shipment. After a full year of being hired you become an employee owner! This entitles you to profit sharing and quarterly bonuses, as well as 76% of your insurance being covered by the company!
