Job Description

Be the Financial Force Behind a High-Growth Company’s Next Chapter.

For over 35 years, Improveit Home Remodeling has been a trusted leader and innovative force in the remodeling industry. Now, we’re entering our most ambitious chapter yet — scaling into new territories with a proven model, unmatched culture, and an unstoppable team.

True to our DNA, our growth isn’t just about new markets—it’s also about improving what already exists. We know there’s untapped potential in how we run the financial side of the business today. From process improvements and smarter systems to clearer metrics and stronger controls, we’re ready to level up.

To fuel this next phase, we need a hands-on CFO who can unlock financial efficiencies while building the foundation for our next $100M+ in revenue. We’re looking for a growth-minded, roll-your-sleeves-up financial powerhouse who lives in the data, thrives in the details, and turns numbers into insights and actions.

This role is more than financial leadership — it’s about architecting the roadmap and leading the charge that makes it a reality. It’s about optimizing systems, not just overseeing portfolios; driving margin growth, not managing investor relations; and enabling scalable growth, not simply monitoring spreadsheets and financial statements.

Major Areas of Responsibility:

• Build and lead a high-performing finance and accounting team that thrives in a tech-rich culture of process

and data-driven performance and growth.

• Lead forecasting, cost containment, margin improvement, and ongoing economic analysis and optimization

strategies that sharpen our profits and strengthen our future.

• Partner with the CEO and executive team on all areas related to finance, including price methodologies, and

expansion and growth efforts.

• Develop and oversee annual budgets, financial forecasts, and long-range planning models.

• Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and recommend actionable insights to drive improvement.

• Champion decision-ready financial data availability across the organization—so every department has what it

needs to perform with confidence at optimal levels.

What You’ll Oversee:

• Oversee budgeting, accounting, cash flow, audits, and financial reporting with full ownership of P&L accuracy.

• Ensure compliance with tax requirements and legal financial standards.

• Maintain and strengthen internal controls, financial discipline, and risk management frameworks.

• Manage key relationships with auditors, banks, and financial partners.

• Lead financial planning and analysis, including scenario modeling, long-range planning, and board reporting.

• Supervise payroll, AP/AR, and related functions to keep the financial engine running smoothly.

• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

• Manage and improve internal controls and financial policies to safeguard company assets.

• Ensure full compliance with tax laws, regulatory requirements, and financial reporting standards.

• Mitigate risk through insurance, legal compliance, and risk management strategies.

• Lead external audits and maintain strong relationships with auditors, banks, and financial institutions.

• Own the finance area tech-stack, continuously seeking ways to optimize efficiencies and leverage the newest

technologies, including AI.

Who We Are Looking For:

The ideal candidate is an operationally minded, hands-on, tech-savvy CFO:

• You’ve led a company through high growth period(s) or are hungry for your shot to do it now.

• You balance strategic oversight with roll-up-your-sleeves execution.

• You’ve implemented financial systems, optimized operations, and driven measurable improvements in

profitability.

• You’re a Controller or VP of Finance ready to take the next step into a top leadership role.

• You thrive on structure, systems, and data—and want a seat at the table to shape company strategy.

• You don’t shy away from dashboards, spreadsheets, or deep-dive analytics—and you love translating them

into clear business decisions.

• Bonus: You have previous experience in the financial or operational side of a home improvement or home

services company.

What You Offer:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

• 8–10+ years of progressive financial leadership, ideally across both tactical and strategic functions.

• A highly analytical mindset with strong modeling, forecasting, and business analysis skills.

• Proven ability to lead finance teams, implement systems, manage technology, and scale infrastructure.

• Mastery of financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls.

• Clear communicator with strong executive presence and the ability to influence at every level.

• Experience in high-growth, operationally intensive environments.

What We Offer

• Highly Competitive Salary & Bonus Opportunities

• Paid Time Off (vacation, Holiday, sick time)

• Health Benefits (Medical/Dental Coverage Options)

• 401K Savings Program with Employer Matching

• AFLAC Supplemental Insurance

• Career Advancement Opportunities

• Positive, Collaborative and Result-Oriented Culture

• Strong Commitment to Employee Growth & Success

• Advanced Technology Tools

• Contests & Fun Culture Initiatives

• Beautiful Gahanna, OH area offices

• Stability of a 35-Year Award-Winning Industry Leader
