Position Summary
JARBO is assisting a Geotechnical Engineering firm with identifying an entry-level Civil Engineer or Geologist, who will be responsible for understanding and executing tasks within a project team or under the guidance of a more experienced engineer/geologist. The role focuses on applying standard techniques and procedures to develop foundational professional skills within the Geotechnical and Geological industry sectors.
Responsibilities of Civil EIT/Geologist In Training:
Performs assignments designed to develop professional knowledge and abilities in engineering or geology.
Utilizes standard methods and procedures to carry out sequences of related tasks.
Exercises limited judgment, primarily in handling details and preliminary adaptations of established engineering/geological techniques.
Works under supervision; unusual or complex assignments are reviewed, and appropriate techniques are selected by a supervisor.
Receives close supervision when faced with new or unfamiliar tasks.
Completes specific, limited portions of broader assignments under the guidance of an experienced professional.
Applies standard practices and techniques; adjusts data and identifies discrepancies.
Conducts research, prepares reports, and solves standard engineering/geological problems.
Engages in fieldwork, including utility locates, property assessments, soil characterization, construction monitoring, and inspections.
Performs engineering design, calculations, data collection, and analysis, as required.
Education & Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Geology from an ABET-accredited program or equivalent.
Has passed either FE Exam for Civil Engineering or FG exam
Experience with AutoCAD
Proficiency with Microsoft Word
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
