Job Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and skilled Secondary School Math Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong academic foundation and a commitment to cultivating both the intellectual and spiritual growth of secondary students. This teacher will engage students in meaningful learning experiences, integrate biblical values, and provide guidance for students' personal and academic development.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver instruction in assigned subjects according to the school’s curriculum guide, utilizing appropriate methods, materials, and instructional aides.

Incorporate a variety of teaching techniques, including project-based learning, discussions, multimedia resources, and guest speakers to enrich the learning experience.

Integrate biblical principles into the curriculum to provide a holistic approach to education and promote spiritual growth alongside academic development.

Design lesson plans that align with the educational goals and objectives for the course, clearly outlining instructional activities, materials, and assessment methods (e.g., assignments, quizzes, projects).

Maintain flexibility in instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of students.

Maintain a disciplined and respectful classroom environment that fosters engagement, productivity, and mutual respect.

Address student behavior and academic challenges promptly, documenting and reporting any discipline issues or dress code violations as needed.

Support students in developing their academic skills, character, and social-emotional competencies.

Track student attendance, issue textbooks, monitor textbook condition, and submit requests for replacements as necessary.

Participate in the textbook adoption process in accordance with the school's established cycle.

Actively participate in scheduled faculty and department meetings, in-service training, and school events, including Parent/Teacher Fellowship meetings.

Attend and contribute to school functions to foster unity, collaboration, and school spirit, building a strong Christian community.

Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure consistent and high-quality academic and spiritual development across the school.

Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and academic achievements.

Submit grades and progress reports for quarterly and semester report cards in a timely manner.

Prepare for and actively participate in parent-teacher conferences and any meetings concerning student progress or behavior.

Participate in ongoing professional development activities to enhance teaching effectiveness, subject knowledge, and integration of biblical principles into the classroom.

Stay current with best practices in education and implement innovative teaching strategies to improve student outcomes.

Model a strong Christian faith through daily prayer, Bible study, and spiritual reflection.

Encourage and support students in developing their own personal relationship with Jesus Christ through prayer and biblical teachings.

Maintain a constant, prayerful awareness of the spiritual needs of students, colleagues, and parents, seeking God’s wisdom and guidance in all aspects of teaching and leadership.

Perform other duties as required to support the ministry’s overall mission.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field

Texas State Teacher Certification

ACSI Certification

Solid understanding of adolescent development and age-appropriate teaching methods.

A passion for teaching and mentoring students as they grow academically, spiritually, and socially.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

Effective classroom management skills, with the ability to foster a structured yet nurturing environment.

Demonstrated problem-solving abilities, with the ability to address and resolve classroom challenges creatively and efficiently, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment.

Ability to think critically and adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, employees will frequently be required to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, talk and hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 15 pounds occasionally, and more than 40 pounds infrequently with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Monday – Friday 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. during the scheduled school year.
