Job Description
The Network Dietitian impacts students’ lives by:
Designing and implementing nutritionally balanced menus for school meals in compliance with USDA regulations and CCS wellness policies
Analyzing the nutritional content of recipes and adjusting them to meet dietary standards while incorporating student preferences
Developing and managing special dietary menus for students with allergies, medical conditions, or religious restrictions
Collaborating with cafeteria leads and food service staff on ingredient selection, recipe development, and menu improvements
Engaging with student groups to incorporate feedback into recipes and menus to improve satisfaction and meal participation
Building and implementing student-centered nutrition education programs, including taste tests, classroom presentations, and cooking demos
Creating and distributing educational materials for parents and staff on healthy eating habits
Working with school health teams to integrate nutrition education into wellness curricula
Monitoring food service operations to ensure adherence to menus, safety regulations, and food handling standards
Training cafeteria staff on nutritional guidelines, dietary accommodations, and food preparation techniques
Conducting quality assurance checks on food served in school cafeterias
Tracking student meal preferences and nutritional data to identify trends and areas for improvement
Preparing reports on food service operations and USDA compliance for school administrators
Partnering with school leaders, food service managers, and health professionals to coordinate nutrition initiatives
Staying informed on current nutrition trends and regulations to ensure meals are compliant and student-centered
Advocating for policies and programs that promote healthy eating and sustainability across Crescent City Schools

Believe in the mission and values of Crescent City Schools
Are a registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
Have a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
Have a strong understanding of child nutrition guidelines, USDA regulations, and wellness policies
Have experience in food service management, preferably in a public K-12 school setting
Are proficient in using Google Suite and nutrient analysis software
Possess excellent communication and presentation skills to educate students, staff, and parents
Have strong analytical skills for evaluating nutritional data and program compliance
Are able to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including cafeteria staff and school administrators
Possess an innovative mindset to develop engaging nutrition education programs and sustainability initiatives
Have experience with menu management software and technical nutritional review of recipes and ingredients (preferred)
Are familiar with implementing farm-to-table programs and other sustainability practices (preferred)
Possess leadership experience in developing large-scale nutrition initiatives across multiple locations (preferred)
Physical Requirements:
Ability to travel to schools across the network for training, monitoring, and education programs
Occasionally lift or carry up to 25 pounds (e.g., educational materials or food samples)
Frequent standing, walking, and movement required during school visits and cafeteria observations
