Job Description
Sylvan Learning Center of Lakeland is looking to hire tutors for part-time afternoon hours, including Saturday mornings. Some weekday morning hours are based on demand. Competitive pay depends on experience, subjects that candidates can teach, longevity, and availability.
Required:
Education degree or 4-year degree with teaching certification to work in subjects such as reading, writing, & study skills
Four-year degree and experience in high math to teach Algebra, Geometry, SAT/ACT prep OR a Junior/Senior in COLLEGE working in a mathematics or STEM field that can teach higher math to students
Responsibilities:
Working closely & developing a report with students
Teaching students based on area of interest
Getting Sylvan Certified (completed in a short amount of time at the center)
Knowledge of technology (such as iPads) to provide meaningful communication and feedback on student progress
Maintaining a schedule and prompt attendance for students' benefit (Dependability!)
