Job Title: Lower Elementary Content Instructor (Math/Reading)

Reports to:Elementary Principal

FLSA Status: Exempt

Normal Work Hours:40 hours per week

Annual Days:196

Salary: $34,000, +merit pay for returning staff

General Purpose: The Lower Elementary Content Instructor (Math/Reading)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Subject matter knowledge

Effectively plan and implement lessons with fidelity to approved existing curriculum

Teach up to four math and/or reading classes each day

Provide quick and consistent feedback via graded assignments

Maintain up-to-date electronic gradebook using Infinite Campus

Manage classroom climate and operation

Deliver effective instruction that promotes achievement

Meet professional responsibilities

Model and support students in developing virtuous character

Support the schools mission through fidelity to policies and practices

Create a positive culture of inquiry and learning

Communicate with parents in a proactive and professional manner

Consistently implement accommodations and modifications for children on plans as specified the plan

Monitor up to two carlines and two recesses or a lunch each day

Other Duties and Responsibilities: As needed or assigned.

Serve as a resource for building staff, administrators, and parents in working with students and creating a positive school climate.

Develop and maintain positive working relationships with students, staff, and families

Model the schools values and standards for professional behavior.

Minimum Requirements:

K-3 reading teachers: READ Act Certified within 90 days of hire (CO READ Act Teacher Training or Praxis 5205)

Bachelors degree

Successfully pass the PRAXIS 5901 series within 90 days of hire
