Job Description
One of our clients, a growing precision manufacturing company in Knoxville, TN is looking for a Manufacturing Process Engineer to drive improvements in machining operations and support new product development. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working hands-on with production teams, optimizing workflows, and leading process innovations from concept to execution.
This is a direct hire 1st shift position, M-F 8am-5pm
Key Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot and improve manufacturing processes and equipment performance
Develop and refine part production methods, including quoting, planning, and delivery
Collaborate with machinists and programmers to ensure efficient, repeatable operations
Analyze customer CAD models and design in-house tooling and fixturing as needed
Create and maintain technical documentation, including SOPs and inspection plans
Support quality initiatives and reduce non-conformances through process analysis
Lead continuous improvement and Lean manufacturing efforts
Coordinate with maintenance and leadership on equipment life cycle planning
Serve as a technical resource for training, product sustainment, and customer feedback
Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in an engineering field; Bachelor's preferred
5+ years of experience in manufacturing involving metalworking or CNC machining methods
Proficient in SolidWorks, GD&T (ASME Y14.5), and interpreting technical drawings
Comfortable working independently and making data-driven decisions
Familiar with measuring tools like calipers and micrometers
Lean manufacturing or CMM experience is a plus
