Who We Want:
Q’Apel Medical is recruiting interns for Summer 2025 based out of the HQ office in Fremont, CA. This internship program will provide a comprehensive learning and professional experience in the Manufacturing Engineering space.
Intern positions are part-time opportunities expected to last ~2.5 months, from June start to August 2025. This in-person position is available to Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors at an accredited college/university during the internship period. We work in an “on-site model”. This means that you will be asked to report on-site at our HQ in Fremont throughout the week. If you are selected for an internship role, you will work directly with your manager as your start date approaches to confirm your exact schedule.
What You’ll Work On:
Mechanical Engineering Intern to work on various engineering projects, lab testing, and documentation development to support manufacturing operations. Projects will include, but are not limited to, designing fixtures, 3d printing parts, equipment qualification/maintenance, manufacturing line support, CAD drafting, and process improvements to manufacturing.
Support the development of design specifications to assure manufacturability.
Support the setup and run product testing and protocols in accordance with project plans.
Ensure product documentation is in accordance with the Quality Management System requirements.
Work with Manufacturing Engineers, R&D, and Production personnel to manufacture product for Design Verification and to transfer new products and processes into the manufacturing environment in-house or to an external contract manufacturer.
Use engineering know-how to assist the design, fabrication, development, installation, validation, and qualification of equipment /fixtures per Quality system requirements.
Perform job functions in a safe and effective manner.
Support engineering testing and documentation that complies with regulatory requirements for regulatory approval or clearance by the FDA or other international regulatory bodies, as required.
Support the Quality System and Quality Policy. Be aware of Quality System procedures and requirements, including regulatory requirements, training requirements for the position. Communicate concerns involving product quality as needed.

What You Will Bring:
Education:
Working Toward BS Degree in Engineering or related discipline.
Experience & Skills:
Effective/ Excellent verbal and written communications
Ability to work independently or in a team setting is required.
Use of critical thinking, problem solving, and analysis.
Preferred to have experience with CAD software.
Job Qualifications:
Enrollment in an accredited college/university during the intern period - Required.
If in College, then actively pursuing at least a bachelor’s degree in a related academic major - Required.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and not require sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g. H1-B status) now or in the future – Required.
Availability to work full-time (40 hours/week) during the Internship - Required.
Demonstrated leadership and/or participation in campus/community service activities is preferred.
A minimum cumulative G.P.A. of 3.0 is preferred.
Work Schedule: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, M-F.
Our compensation ranges are determined by role and level. Your placement within the range will be based on your job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and relevant education or certifications. This is a non-exempt, part-time position with an hourly rate between $17.30 and $20.00. Please note that this position is not benefits-eligible.
