Connelly School of the Holy Child is a Catholic, college preparatory school, committed to the intellectual, spiritual, artistic, physical, and social development of young women in grades 6 through 12. Responsibilities include:
Teaching high school level math courses (Alg. I, Alg. II and Trigonometry, Geometry, Precalculus, Calculus, Quantitative Literacy, Statistics)
Providing an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of young women
Integrating technology effectively into classroom practices
Participating in the school community with other duties as assigned
Working collaboratively with colleagues within the Math department as well as with colleagues from additional departments to align teaching practices
Pursuing professional development opportunities to continually grow as a Math teacher in order to enhance student learning
Responding to the needs of Holy Child, including service learning, advisory program, assigned supervision and other duties as assigned
An active commitment to enhancing our school community through involvement with committees and in student life activities
Effective and consistent communication with students, parents, staff, and community
Developing, selecting, and differentiating instruction to meet the needs of a diverse population
Maintaining appropriate records and following required procedures and practices
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in mathematics or related field required, with teaching experience in various levels of secondary education 6-12. Master’s Degree preferred; MSDE certification preferred
Successful math teaching experience at the high school grade levels
Familiarity with innovative instructional strategies such as building thinking classrooms and visible thinking strategies
