We are seeking a Controls Engineer to join our R&D team to help develop and implement the next generation of machine control systems. This role is focused on evaluating emerging control technologies, advancing software integration, and supporting virtual commissioning and IoT initiatives within automation environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, test, and implement advanced control systems using Rockwell and Siemens platforms
Support machine-level connectivity and assist in integrating smart automation solutions
Develop and maintain virtual commissioning workflows to reduce onsite commissioning efforts
Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to evaluate new controls hardware/software
Ensure compliance with industrial safety standards across systems and processes
Track budgets and timelines, and communicate project outcomes to senior leadership
Serve as a mentor to junior engineers
Present ideas and technical outcomes clearly to executive, director, and C-suite leadership
Travel as needed to customer sites, trade shows, and international group partners
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field
Minimum of 3 years of experience with controls system design and implementation
Proficiency with Rockwell and Siemens PLC/HMI platforms; exposure to third-party tools is a plus
Strong emphasis on software capabilities, particularly for simulation and virtual commissioning
Solid understanding of industrial automation safety systems and standards
