Saint Agatha School, located at 1880 Northam Road in Columbus, is seeking a dedicated and passionate Second Grade Teacher for the upcoming school year. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing a Christ-centered education that supports the spiritual, academic, and social growth of students. We are looking for a teacher who has a strong understanding of elementary education, particularly in the areas of literacy and early math skills, and a deep commitment to fostering Catholic values in the classroom.
Requirements:
Hold an appropriate Ohio Teaching License (Professional, Permanent, or Resident Educator) or be eligible to obtain one before beginning to teach
Current satisfactory BCI & FBI background checks
Have attended or be willing to attend a Virtus Protecting God's Children training
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrate the ability to create a Christ-centered learning environment
Job Responsibilities:
Teach Second grade students in all core subjects, including English, Math, Science, and Social Studies
Provide instruction in preparation for the sacraments of Reconciliation and First Communion
Integrate Catholic teachings and virtues throughout the curriculum
Assess students regularly to inform instruction and ensure understanding
Create a Christ-centered and supportive classroom environment
Collaborate with fellow teachers, parents, and administrators to support student development
Foster a classroom environment that promotes high levels of learning, achievement, and Catholic values
Participate in ongoing professional and spiritual development
Qualifications:
Appropriate state certification/license as required for teaching Second grade
Religious Education certification as required by the Diocese of Columbus
Passion for teaching and commitment to working with young children in a Catholic environment
