Job Summary:
Peak is seeking an experienced L3 Network Technician to provide on-site Smart Hands support to Level 2/3 teams. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in supporting network infrastructure, particularly within data center environments. This role involves installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of networking and server equipment, structured cabling, and physical infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide physical touch support for network incidents and service requests.
Assist remote L2/L3 teams in resolving hardware and cabling issues.
Perform rack and stack installations of networking/server equipment.
Support network builds by installing patch cables, fiber/copper connections, and hardware components.
Maintain cable management and ensure proper installation practices are followed.
Conduct testing using tools like Fluke Testers and Aircheck for copper, fiber, and wireless networks.
Offer console access to remote teams and verify connectivity post-installation.
Required Qualifications:
Associate or Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent); OR 3 years of relevant experience per year of missing education.
3+ years of experience as a Site Support or Infrastructure Technician.
Proven data center experience is required.
Hands-on experience with:
Racking and stacking network/server equipment
Installing and testing fiber/copper cabling (Cat5, Cat5e, Cat6)
IP addressing and Layer 2 networking (VLANs)
Ethernet switch hardware and components (line cards, transceivers, power supplies)
Working knowledge of wireless hardware, controllers, and access points.
Ability to use diagnostic tools (Fluke, OTDR, etc.) for testing and troubleshootingCompany Description
