Job Description
Reporting to the Iron Shop Foreman, this position will learn the overall job functions of the Iron Shop in a controlled environment. Iron shop personnel are responsible for servicing and recertifying oil and gas production and flowback equipment in house.
Essential Duties:
Review and follow all operating procedures in a safe manner.
Disassemble and provide maintenance of various types of production testing valves.
Learn the recertification band color code.
Gain a general knowledge of the rebuild and pressure test areas.
Learn hands on mechanical functions, grinding, cleaning, minor repairs.
Learn the identifying characteristics of all types of high-pressure parts (i.e., pressure rating, size, manufacture, union type, serial number, asset number)
Learn the differences between all levels of inspection/ recertification (visual, LEVEL 1, LEVEL2)
Communicate with other Iron Shop team members, reporting any issues.
Complete daily job safety analysis documents each morning with the iron shop team.
Operate forklifts to move equipment or materials to and from storage/repair area.
Perform all duties in a safe manner, observing safe work practices, including proper use of personal protective equipment.
Requirements:
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
EXPERIENCE: 0-2years’ experience
REQUIREMENTS: Moderate mechanical abilities, capable of performing continuous physical labor, have own reliable transportation
LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: Tetra will provide all necessary training including Safeland, First Aid, CPR, Forklift, Defensive Driving Course, client specific safety trainings
TRAVEL: Must be 21 to drive for Tetra, limited travel to pick or drop off parts to location
SCHEDULE: Typical weekdays 6:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.,Weekend rotation and some weekday after hours needed, 12+ hours shift qualify for a per diem, working weekends qualifies for paid travel and per diem
