Structural Engineer

Job Description

Synerfac is seeking a Structural Engineer for our client in Gaithersburg, MD. Our client is a consulting structural engineering firm specializing in the repair and rehabilitation of structures, structural elements and waterproofing systems.

Responsibilities:

- plans, coordinates, devises and directs the evaluation / investigation of structural and building envelope conditions.

- develops or assists in developing the scope of services for proposals, including sampling and testing requirements.

- performs field surveys of existing construction, documents visual findings, devises and directs intrusive sampling work and prepares written reports regarding findings.

- interprets test results and field data to establish opinions relative to conditions being evaluated.

- responsible for developing repair design packages including bidding documents such as specifications, drawings and bid forms.

- attends project meetings such as pre-bid, pre-construction and progress meetings.

- maintains direct contact with clients' and contractors' personnel.

- communicates on technical and administrative issues using both written and verbal techniques.

- assists senior project personnel and other staff members as required with technical analysis, evaluation and field construction observation and investigation work.

- provides training and guidance as well as reviews work product prepared by other technical and administrative staff.

- participates in marketing activities and special events by assisting with preparation of articles and presentations, occasional participation at college recruiting events

- 4+ years of Structural or Civil design engineering and rehabilitation construction in commercial and large scale residentials

- P.E. license (EITS that are close to eligibility acceptable)

- Bachelor's Degree in related field

- Familiar with Autocad, Revit, Etabs, Safe, MATLAB, and SIMULINK
