The Professional Division of Spherion Mid-Ohio is partnered with an established and mission-driven non-profit healthcare organization in Richland County seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This is a hybrid position with a salary range of $125K – $186K, based on skill set and experience. Come join their leadership team!

A respected, mission-driven nonprofit healthcare organization in Richland County is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join its collaborative and forward-thinking leadership team.

Responsibilities:

Financial Strategy and Planning

Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the organization’s mission and goals

Lead the annual budget and long-term financial planning process

Provide financial analysis to support strategic decision-making

Financial Management

Oversee financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, billing, and revenue cycle management

Monitor performance against budget and forecast; implement corrective actions as needed

Ensure timely, accurate financial reporting to internal stakeholders and regulatory agencies

Compliance and Risk Management

Ensure compliance with financial regulations, including HRSA guidelines

Maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and mitigate financial risk

Coordinate audits and reviews by external agencies

Grants Management

Manage grant finances, including budget development, compliance, and reporting

Collaborate with program managers to ensure effective and compliant use of grant funds

Leadership and Team Development

Lead the finance team with a focus on accountability, transparency, and growth

Mentor staff and support professional development and succession planning

Oversee hiring, engagement, and career development in compliance with employment laws and EEOC standards

Collaborative Relationships

Partner with executive leadership and department heads to meet organizational objectives

Build strong relationships with funders, banks, and vendors

Model positive leadership and uphold organizational values across the team

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Expertise in health care financing, billing (CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10), and compliance (HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid).

Proficient in financial planning, budgeting, reporting, and grant management (HRSA).

Strong understanding of GAAP, accounting software, and overseeing AP, AR, and general ledger functions.

Ability to manage internal controls, address compliance issues, and collaborate with auditors.

Leadership skills for motivating teams, presenting financial data, and strategic problem-solving.

Strong analytical, decision-making, and collaboration skills to address financial challenges.

Commitment to ethics, confidentiality, and continuous professional development.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred).

Minimum of 5 years of progressive financial leadership experience, preferably in a healthcare or nonprofit setting.

Strong understanding of financial management, healthcare financing, and regulatory requirements (especially HRSA).

Proven track record in financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, grant management, and audit coordination.

Exceptional leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Proficiency with accounting software (experience in healthcare settings preferred).
