Senior Project Manager
Job Summary:
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the successful oversight and execution of architectural projects across all phases, from pre-design through construction administration. This role involves leading project teams, ensuring high-quality deliverables, managing project budgets and schedules, and maintaining strong client relationships. Senior Project Managers work closely with firm leadership to ensure projects meet quality standards and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and manage project teams to produce high-quality construction documents and deliverables for all project phases.
Ensure projects adhere to contractual agreements, meeting established budgets, goals, and work assignments for the project team.
Plan, organize, and direct architectural and engineering teams for orderly, timely, and coordinated project execution.
Communicate professionally and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with internal teams, consultants, and vendors.
Make informed and timely decisions, supporting and explaining reasoning, and including relevant parties in the decision-making process.
Direct, organize, and mentor junior staff, overseeing their assignments and fostering their professional growth.
Maintain positive client relationships throughout the project lifecycle, keeping clients informed of progress.
Initiate and maintain contact with key project individuals for clarification, coordination, and negotiation of critical issues.
Provide leadership, resources, and technical guidance for the generation of construction documents, including detailing and finish application, ensuring design intent is maintained.
Support firm leadership in the supervision and delegation of work.
Prepare and deliver client presentations.
Participate in Board Meetings as required.
Conduct quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) reviews.
Engage in client maintenance activities.
Support business development efforts.
Participate in conferences and seminars.
Engage in regular meetings with leadership and other Project Managers.
Perform Construction Administration duties.
Occasional travel is required.
Qualifications:
Must be a registered Architect in the state.
Minimum of 7+ years of professional architectural experience, with a preference for experience in Higher Education or K12 projects.
Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Proven ability to make sound and accurate judgments, support decisions, and make timely decisions.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit programs is required.
Working knowledge of graphic programs such as SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suites is a plus.
Strong customer service, organizational, and communication skills are essential.
Knowledge of building codes is required.
