Press Operator
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: may include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Direct the activities and efforts of all assigned personnel. Lead team’s efforts in achieving the organization’s goal of 100% OTD, Minimal Scrap, 0 injuries, and 100% Customer Satisfaction.
Ensure that all production personnel complete required paperwork including but not limited to Daily Time Analysis Cards at day-end, and that the appropriate entries are made in the Shop Travelers.
Prepare material for SPF forming including but not limited to pulling designated material, shear material to size and application of graphite.
Operate hot forming press, making adjustments to air pressure and other instruments used to operate press.
Prepare formed parts for next process; including but not limited to Plasma cutting, Cleanline and trimming
Accurate and Timely completion of all Production and Quality Documents.
Use necessary inspection tools including ping gage, height gage, ball calipers, go/no go gauges and ultrasound.
Maintain a clean and safe work area.
Follow all Safe Operating Practices and Company Safety Procedures.
Prepare, load and unload tools used in forming of aluminum parts.
Troubleshoot issues on assigned machine for part quality and machine efficiency. Resolve issues where appropriate
Perform minor maintenance to machine when needed.
Maintain a productive and positive working environment through the extensive use of human relations techniques.
May be asked to lead activities in support of continuous improvement projects.
Apply initiative and creativity in the development of new production techniques and methods.
Implement effective training programs for production personnel, as needed.
Act as internal liaison between the various departments, including passing on pertinent information from employee to the appropriate management personnel.
Ensure a clean and safe working environment; monitor housekeeping and production personnel to fulfill their responsibilities in this area.
Operate a forklift to move raw material, tools etc. to the desired location.
Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including OSHA, EPA, State and Federal Regulations.

Responsible for closing down and locking the facility.
