General Accountant - Hybrid

QES is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented General Accountant to support our day-to-day financial operations. This role involves a wide range of accounting duties, including general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, financial reporting, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure the financial integrity of our growing organization. The ideal candidate will have experience in the construction or engineering industry and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

Maintain and reconcile the general ledger accounts, ensuring accurate and timely month-end and year-end close.

Prepare journal entries, accruals, and adjustments to support accurate financial reporting.

Assist in preparing financial statements and internal reports for management.

Perform account analysis and variance explanations.

Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and relevant regulations.

Support cash flow management and bank reconciliations.

Collaborate with project managers to track job costs and ensure accurate billing.

Assist with the preparation of audit schedules and coordinate with external auditors.

Maintain accounting documentation and records in accordance with company policy and best practices.

Provide backup support for payroll and accounts payable as needed.Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.

2–4 years of general accounting experience; construction or engineering industry experience is a plus

Proficiency in accounting software

Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.

Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and analytical skills.

Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.

High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.Anticipated Salary Range: $65,000 - $80,000

The offered salary will be based on the applicant's qualifications, education, experience, and work location.
