You will play a pivotal role in maintaining SimpleFlying's authority in the aviation news space while innovating new ways to grow and engage our readership.
What We’re Looking For:
Define and uphold editorial vision, tone, and quality standards across all content.
Recruit, manage, and mentor writers, editors, and contributors across time zones, maintaining high morale and performance.
Develop and execute strategic content plans aligned with traffic goals, reader engagement, and revenue targets.
Oversee daily article approval, headline crafting, fact-checking, and style consistency.
Utilize data and performance metrics to refine content strategies and identify new editorial opportunities.
Stay current with aviation trends, major industry news, and competitor movements to guide proactive coverage.
Work closely with SEO teams, social media managers, and commercial departments to amplify reach and revenue.
Manage sensitive stories, breaking news situations, and corrections with journalistic integrity and speed.
Skills We’re Looking For:
Proven experience (5+ years) in an editorial leadership role, ideally within a digital news or niche media publication.
Deep passion for aviation and strong familiarity with the global airline industry.
Exceptional editing, writing, and communication skills.
Strong understanding of SEO best practices, audience engagement strategies, and digital publishing workflows.
Demonstrated experience managing remote, international teams.
Highly organized, proactive, and able to handle high-pressure news cycles.
Analytical mindset with experience using tools like Google Analytics, WordPress CMS, and SEO platforms (e.g., SEMrush, Ahrefs).
