Description

Carrier Process Equipment Group (CPEG) is a Louisville-based company with multiple businesses specializing in material handling and processing equipment. We are looking for the BEST employees in the industry to help us grow our business at Sly in Mathiston.

We are currently hiring a Press Break/Layout Operator.

Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 5 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with opportunities to work overtime on Fridays with supervisor approval.

What you’ll do

Conduct all business in accordance with all company policies and safety practices.

Layout

Responsible for developing cut list of all gauge material to be sheered and formed.

Layout the holes, scribe bend lines, angle of bend, notches, slots, nozzles, protrusions, stubs and all other special hole locations on the piece of steel.

Machine hands

Sheer metal to cut list size.

Sheer on scribed cut lines.

Form on scribe lines to degree of scribe by layout.

Roll shells, rings, cones, bands and mark all pieces with all job numbers and part numbers.

Torch operator

Takes CAD cut list and pull appropriate material.

Cut parts on cut list.

Grind/polish/de-bur cut items.

Write job numbers and part numbers on each piece.

CAD Planner

Generate cut lists from job file for parts to be cut on plasma torch.

Make CAD layout sheet and all appropriate nesting in order to maximize sheet steel.

Complete al documentation required by sheet metal procedures.

Marginal or peripheral functions

CAD Planner

Act as inspector.

Supervise miscellaneous sub fabrication work (Andritz, Envirocare, etc.).

Requirements

Able to lift 50 lbs.

CAD Experience.

Maintain a high standard of quality of work and regular attendance.

Follow company policies and procedures.

Able to read a tape measure and ruler.

Able to perform simple math.

Able to read or learn to read mechanical prints and drawings.

Able to work varied hours and shifts, if required.

Good communication skills; able to understand and follow directions.

Excellent team player.

Must be dedicated to customer satisfaction.

Able to stand and/or walk around the plant for up to 7 hours a day.

Preferred qualifications

Minimum of High School diploma or G.E.D.

Salary Description

$18 to $22 per hour
