Job Title: Welder

Job Description

A Welder joins metal parts together using heat, typically with a welding machine, to fabricate or repair structures, machinery, or equipment according to blueprints and specifications. They read technical drawings, operate welding equipment, inspect welds for quality, and maintain welding equipment.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and other technical drawings to understand welding requirements and specifications.

Operate various welding equipment, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding machines, to fuse metal components together.

Perform different welding techniques to join metal parts in various positions and according to specific requirements.

Inspect welds for accuracy and quality, ensuring they meet specified standards and specifications.

Conduct routine maintenance on welding equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety.

Adhere to strict safety procedures and guidelines when operating welding equipment and working in a welding environment.

Clean and prepare surfaces to be welded, set up equipment, and collaborate with other tradespeople as necessary.Essential Skills

Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.

Experience with MIG, TIG, and stick welding machines.

Strong understanding of various welding techniques.

Ability to conduct quality control inspections on welds.Additional Skills & Qualifications

Previous experience in welding or a related field is advantageous.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mobile, Alabama.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $32.00/hr.
