Position Overview:-
We are seeking a seasoned and highly motivated Project Manager / Architect with 10+ years of professional experience to lead the design and delivery of custom architectural projects from concept through completion. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, design sensibility, and a comprehensive understanding of both the creative and technical aspects of architecture-particularly within the regulatory context of Pitkin County and the City of Aspen. This individual will manage client relationships, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and drive projects forward with clarity and purpose.
Key Responsibilities:-
Lead design and project management through all phases (SD, DD, CD, permitting, and CA)
Serve as primary liaison for clients, consultants, contractors, and public agencies
Manage schedules, staffing, and budgets for multiple concurrent projects
Oversee the preparation of comprehensive drawing sets and technical documentation
Navigate complex local zoning regulations and building codes with deep familiarity with Pitkin County and City of Aspen permitting processes
Coordinate required submittals and presentations to local review boards and planning departments
Ensure technical accuracy and design integrity across all project stages
Conduct and lead site visits, construction meetings, and project reviews
Mentor junior team members and foster a collaborative studio culture
Qualifications:-
Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch)
10+ years of experience in high-end residential and/or boutique commercial architecture
Demonstrated expertise in managing full project lifecycles from design to occupancy
Proven experience navigating Pitkin County and City of Aspen permitting, zoning, and land use regulations (required)
Proficiency in Revit (required)
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and SketchUp
Strong working knowledge of construction methods, detailing, and building systems
Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills
Licensure preferred but not required
