Job Description

The packer is responsible for final packaging flavors such as powders, spray dry, liquids, emulsions, and extracts according to directions on each batch ticket. This role involves working closely with the Batch Processors to package batches with food safety, quality, efficiency, and accuracy priorities. You will operate machinery like mixers, spray dryers, and blending tanks. The ability to read labels and follow safety procedures is essential. You will be responsible for packaging the correct finished product quantity with the correct label while ensuring safe and efficient operation.

Responsibilities

Package flavors according to batch ticket directions.

Work closely with Batch Processors to ensure food safety, quality, efficiency, and accuracy.

Operate machinery such as mixers, spray dryers, and blending tanks.

Monitor equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.

Record operational and production data on specified forms.

Transfer materials, supplies, and products between work areas using equipment and sit-down forklifts.

Understand the impact and importance of food safety in our products.

Communicate any food safety concerns to shift leads or management.

Follow SOPs, including sanitation of equipment after each batch.Essential Skills

Ability to read labels and follow safety procedures.

Knowledge of food safety practices.

Proficiency in operating machinery such as mixers, spray dryers, and blending tanks.

Ability to monitor equipment for safe and efficient operation.

Effective communication skills to report food safety concerns.Additional Skills & Qualifications

High School Diploma required.

Experience in packing, manufacturing, and GMP environments.

Forklift operation skills.

Work Environment

This position is in a food GMP environment with strong smells due to the flavors production. Employees must wear steel-toe shoes, a hair net, and no jewelry is allowed. Uniforms and lockers are provided. Lifting requirements vary by product: 50lb boxes for spray dry and powders, and 25-30lb containers for liquids. Tasks are rotated to ensure variety.Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
