Job Description

We are currently seeking a Technical Service Specialist to provide in-depth support to key customers in the automotive paint industry. This role focuses on maintaining and optimizing pretreatment processes while ensuring chemical applications align with industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of pretreatment lines and related chemical processes, including sealers and waxes, within the customer’s paint shop.

• Conduct onside technical support, from start-up through operational execution.

• Suggest corrective actions and ensure implementation by paint operators.

• Perform scheduled in-depth service for assigned accounts to verify compliance with established chemical and mechanical process parameters.

• Prepare written service reports detailing chemical process performance and improvements.

• Build strong relationships with plant personnel to identify future growth opportunities.

• Collaborate with other paint shop suppliers, developing a basic understanding of their operations to enhance chemical compatibility.

• Serve as a technical expert, supporting the Global Key Account Managers and North American Automotive Manager with industry insights and recommendations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a science field, or equivalent training/experience.

• Minimum 2 years of technical service experience.

• Ability to quickly learn the automotive paint industry and chemical processes.

• Strong problem-solving mentality and excellent time management skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email communication.

• Effective public speaking skills and experience in technical skill development & cross-training.

• Strong interface management skills for collaboration with sales, customers, and technology teams.

• Commitment to safety, regulations, and industry best practices.
