Order Processing & Logistics Specialist

Job Description

Salary: $24 - $30 hourly

Summary

Fast-growing manufacturing company serving the automotive industry is seeking an Order Processing & Logistics Specialist at our facility in Waukegan, IL with room for advancement. The function of this position is to communicate with internal departments, external customers, and carriers to ensure on-time delivery performance.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Processing customer purchase orders

Maintain and monitor inventory to meet production demands

Confer with departmental supervisors or other personnel to assess progress and discuss needed changes when applicable

Work with colleagues and other departments to find appropriate solutions to issues as they arise

Partner with shipping and transportation teams to execute seamless transactions

Provide general parts order management to include; order entry, promise date compliance, backlog management, coordination of material shipments, on-time delivery, order expediting, and status/tracking of orders

Other duties as assigned in Managements sole discretion

Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities

Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines

Previous experience with EDI and order entry platforms preferred

Customer service experience from within a manufacturing environment

Must be able to communicate effectively both in written and verbal formats

Ability to prioritize, coordinate, multi-task, and demonstrate initiative

Proficiency with Microsoft Office

High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)

Past experience in order processing position preferred but not required

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

Must have flexible working schedule to support operations

Must be able to commit to full-time, in-office employment
