Data Center Installation Technician (All Levels)

Job Description

Leapros Skilled Trades is a trusted workforce solutions partner within the construction industry and is currently seeking experienced Data Center Installation Technicians for various local structured cabling positions throughout the Columbus, OH area (multiple positions & overtime available!).

Responsibilities:

Install support structures, such as cable trays and conduit, for efficient cable routing

Pull and route low-voltage cabling, including CAT 5/6, coaxial, fiber optics, and more.

Terminate cable and distribution frames, ensuring proper connections and signal transmission.

Troubleshoot cable infrastructure on commercial or industrial projects, identifying and resolving issues promptly.

Communicate effectively with team members, including fellow technicians, Project Managers, and Superintendents.

Conveyance Installation, Rack and stack work, closet work, putting together server racks, patch panels

Qualifications:

Previous experience in structured cabling and telecommunications installation is a plus but not required. We welcome candidates at all skill levels

Fiber splicing and termination is a plus but not required

Knowledge of universal color codes for cable identification and labeling

Familiarity with industry standards such as EIA, TIA, BICSI, or NEC is not required, however, preferred

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Outside Plant (OSP) experience is a plus

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to sit, stand, talk or hear, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, stretch, twist, and/or reach out for prolonged periods of time

Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds at waist height for short distances, and occasionally up to 100 pounds.

Overhead lifting: Must be able to occasionally lift 50 pounds overhead for short distances

Must be able to push, pull and move up to 75 pounds at shoulder height

Dexterity of hands and fingers to use tools

Must be able to regularly carry and climb ladders up to 20 feet

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics

Ability to use a computer and/or hand tools while sitting or standing for extended periods of time

Must be able to see and distinguish different colors, read small print and hear and recognize audible signals such as dial tones

Must be able to work in tight, confided spaces at times

Must be able to travel within territory as needed

Must be aware of OSHA safety standards

Noise levels are typically moderate

Location: Columbus, OH and surrounding areas

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $35.00+ per hour BOE
