Job Overview:

SAPA Transmission is seeking an experienced and highly skilled CMM Programmer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for programming, operating, and maintaining Zeiss Calypso CMM systems to ensure that all products meet the highest standards of quality and precision. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Zeiss Calypso software, excellent problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of coordinate measuring machines (CMM) and quality control procedures.

Responsibilities:

Develop and optimize CMM programs using Zeiss Calypso software and GEAR PRO, ensuring maximum efficiency and accuracy.

Program and operate Zeiss CMMs equipped with articulating probe heads for a variety of complex part inspections.

Perform precise dimensional inspections and analyze measurement data to ensure compliance with engineering specifications.

Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements to ensure accurate measurement and reporting.

Troubleshoot CMM programs and resolve measurement issues to maintain smooth operational performance.

Identify and resolve non-conformances and deviations in collaboration with the quality control team.

Generate detailed inspection reports and communicate results to relevant teams to ensure timely corrective actions are taken.

Collaborate with engineers and production personnel to address and resolve quality-related issues.

Maintain Zeiss CMM equipment and ensure proper calibration in accordance with manufacturer’s guidelines.

Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to improve part quality and measurement processes.

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the metrology department to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Train and mentor junior team members on CMM programming, operation, and troubleshooting to build a strong metrology team.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 10 years of experience in CMM programming.

Associate of Applied Science in Precision Manufacturing, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field preferred.

CMM programming certification (e.g., Zeiss, NIMS, or equivalent) is a plus.

Familiarity with ISO and AS9100 quality standards.

Strong proficiency in using Zeiss Calypso software, particularly with articulating probe heads.

Knowledge of Gear Specs (DIN5480, DIN3960) and Zeiss GEAR PRO software.

Proven experience with manual inspection techniques and the use of various measuring instruments.

Strong knowledge of engineering drawings, GD&T, and quality control standards.

Knowledge of metrology, statistical process control, and quality control methodologies.
