Ohio Citizen Action is excited to be adding a Regional Field Director to our Columbus team. As we head into this pivotal election season, this role's primary focus will be overseeing and managing our Columbus canvassing team. The Regional Field Director will be motivating their canvassing team to hit door knocking goals, and engaging Ohioans doing OCAs advocacy campaigns. This role will involve training and developing your canvassing team in our mission to ensure Ohioans are educated on legislation impacting the public and delivering messaging around our future political endorsements. This role reports to the Chief Political Officer.
Role Responsibilities:
Onboard, train, and retain top-notch Canvassers and Field Managers for our Columbus field team. Ensure your team is motivated, has ongoing training, and in-the-know with all campaign updates.
Collaborate with the Organizing Team to create compelling campaign messages; strategize to target the right areas to achieve goals - and lead your team to meet campaign deliverables, membership goals, and fundraising targets.
Work with municipal reps to ensure safe and compliant canvassing and organize regular briefings for your team. Collaborate with the Phone Canvass Director to share resources when possible.
Meet fiduciary responsibilities and manage expenses in accordance with the Field Canvass budget; ensure timely submission and reporting of expenditures. Follow all administrative systems associated with running the Field Canvass operation.
Taking initiative in organizational decision-making and information sharing, ensuring your work reflects our core values.
Participate in field canvassing efforts with your team- showing exemplary leadership of how the work gets done.
Be adaptable and open to changing priorities and ready to assist with additional tasks as needed.
Key Qualifications:
1+ year exp. in door-to-door electoral campaigns.
1+ year exp. in managing and training field canvassers ideal.
Proven track record of successful member and political action organizing, meeting fundraising objectives, and executing field campaign plans.
Strong time management and organizational skills; experience in training, scheduling, and managing field staff.
Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills; with the ability to motivate and encourage team members while holding them accountable to organizational processes and performance standards.
Ability to communicate and inspire commitment to Ohio Citizen Actions mission and goals.
Flexible scheduling; available to staff for support and guidance.
