Basic Functions

The Water Jet/Laser Operator I is responsible for operating and maintaining water jet and laser cutting machines to produce precision parts according to specifications. This is an entry-level position designed for individuals with limited experience who are looking to grow their technical skills in a manufacturing environment. Operate water jet and laser cutting machines according to standard procedures.

Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and diagrams to produce precision parts.

Monitor machine performance and adjust settings to ensure parts meet quality standards.

Perform basic maintenance on machines, including cleaning and calibration.

Conduct inspections of finished products to ensure they meet required specifications.

Maintain a clean and organized workspace in compliance with safety and operational standards.

Report any equipment malfunctions or issues to the supervisor.

Perform various other duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor.Required Skills

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams.

Basic mechanical aptitude with a willingness to learn machine operation.

Attention to detail and focus on quality.

Ability to work in a team environment, demonstrating collaboration and open-mindedness.

Good communication skills.
