Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated associate scientist to join the Molecular Therapeutics team to purify AAV libraries and to define the mechanism of transduction of selected capsids. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in protein science including protein binding assays, protein structure, and cell biology.
Key Duties & Accountabilities:
Optimize methods for production and isolation of AAV capsid libraries using automated liquid handlers such as Tecan
In vitro AAV transduction experiments in normal and CRISPr KO cells
Protein binding and inhibition experiments
Contribute to modelling of protein structures
Collaborate within the molecular therapeutics team and across the R&D organization including computational biologists, analytical development, and process development
Communicate findings and insights to stakeholders through reports, presentations, and visualizations.
Core Competencies Required:
Experience with AAV and/or antibody production and drug development
Strong technical skills in protein biochemistry and cell biology to define the mechanism of AAV transduction
Proficiency in computing include Geneious, BLAST, Ensembl, NCBI, Uniprot, USCS, GTEx, Microsoft, PRISM statistics program
Candidates with experience in molecular modeling such as alpha-fold, DynamicBind, or equivalent will be preferred
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Knowledge: Education, Experience, & Skills:
Bachelor of Science with either a Master’s degree and/or 3 years’ industry experience in protein science research
