POSITION OVERVIEW

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As a member of Big Blue Boxes family, the Ground Supervisor will be responsible for maintaining the yard in our New Brighton, MN location and will have the following responsibilities:

Group Supervisor will Operate Forklift:

Load and unload containers on and off trucks.

Manage stored containers, shuffling and organizing as needed.

Move equipment in and out of work area.

Group Supervisor will Fabricate:

Use of cutting, grinding, welding, and painting tools and equipment to build and install steel framework for doors and windows in containers - involves working from many positions including kneeling, squatting, reaching, ladders, etc.

Install roll-up doors, turbine vents, windows, and other fixtures into fabricated openings, sometimes with assistance from others, also at times using the forklift.

Install simple electronical systems into containers including receptacles, lighting, switches, conduit, etc.

Repair containers including partial floor replacement, door repair and lubrication, panel straightening and sectioning, rust repair and painting.

Repair trucks with minor mechanical issues, small engine repairs, electrical wiring and lights, mud flaps, etc.

Group Supervisor will Maintain Yard/Operate Skid Steer:

Maintain yard surface, spread asphalt grindings, fill holes and puddles, leveling, etc.

Assist in snow removal.

Miscellaneous items: melting ice, shoveling show, cutting lawn (unpropelled mower), weed control, tool storage and maintenance, parts inventory and acquisition, container inventory management and reporting.

Other duties as assigned.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

High school or equivalent.

Forklift certification a plus.

Experience:

Minimum 1 year experience in a similar role or capacity.

Must have your own base set of tools.

Skills/Abilities:

Ability to perform physical tasks associated with this position.

Ability to work independently and take initiative, anticipating and resolving problems.

Professional demeanor and interpersonal skills.

Strong attention to detail.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.

Ability to adapt with changing priorities.
