Position Overview:
Palo Alto County Health System (PACHS) is seeking a dedicated Patient Access Representative to perform a variety of office duties and serve as a source of service and information for patients, PACHS personnel, and the general public. This role involves preparing outpatient and inpatient admissions, handling insurance verification, and providing competent individualized care to patients of all ages. Part-time, 16 hours per pay-period (2 weeks).
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare admissions and complete necessary forms.
Verify insurance information and eligibility.
Schedule and check in patients.
Collect copays and assist with Medicaid applications.
Maintain patient records and route patients to proper departments.
Handle emergency situations and direct calls appropriately.
Document patient information accurately and timely.
Train new receptionists and support departmental policies.
Requirements:
High School graduate or GED.
Prior relevant experience preferred.
Knowledge of Medicare, insurance, and other payment options.
Proficient in typing, computer operation, and office equipment.
Ability to work flexible hours.
Basic computer skills.
Maintains certification for assigned work area.
