We are seeking a knowledgeable and driven Operations Security (OPSEC) Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support our customers mission-critical security operations. This position requires deep knowledge of OPSEC principles as outlined in NSPM-28 and NSDD-298 and at least three years of experience applying those principles to safeguard national security interests. As the OPSEC SME, you will play a key role in shaping, assessing, and evolving security strategies and training programs across multiple domains, including program protection, personnel, industrial, and information systems security. JOB DUTIES/FUNCTIONS
Serve as the OPSEC SME, interpreting technical needs and applying appropriate risk management and security controls aligned with national policy.
Support program protection planning efforts, including personnel, industrial, physical, and information systems security.
Conduct liaison activities and coordinate CI and OPSEC services for supported organizations.
Develop and maintain OPSEC policies, guidance, and instructions in accordance with NSPM-28 and NSDD-298.
Provide expert analysis and present findings and actionable recommendations to both internal stakeholders and external partners.
Develop and deliver OPSEC training and awareness materials to Department/Agency-wide audiences.
Identify and implement solutions to resolve evolving program requirements and ensure compliance.
Conduct data gathering and analysis using evaluative methodologies to support sound, mission-focused decision-making.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Active Top Secret/SCI clearance required
MUST be located in the D.C. or surrounding area
Minimum three (3) years of experience supporting an OPSEC program aligned with national directives
Demonstrated experience with:
Interpreting technical requirements and implementing risk-based security controls
Supporting program protection planning across multiple domains (personnel, physical, industrial, etc.)
Coordinating CI/OPSEC services at the organizational level
Drafting policies, guidance, and training to maintain OPSEC compliance
Communicating complex findings to varied audiences (written and oral)
Solving security-related challenges in dynamic environments
Strong analytical skills with a focus on risk evaluation and mitigation
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Prior experience developing Department or Agency-wide OPSEC training programs
Experience working with military, intelligence, or defense acquisition organizations
Familiarity with Program Protection Plans and security assessments in classified environments
