Senior Network Administrator
A Senior Network Administrator manages the organization’s IT network infrastructure. Responsibilities include ensuring network performance, availability, and security. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot the organization’s network infrastructure (including devices from Cisco, Palo Alto, and Meraki).
Monitor network performance, analyze traffic, and provide capacity planning solutions.
Interface with vendor support services during outages or system performance issues.
Manage security and ensure compliance through vulnerability scans and patch management
Maintain firewall rules and VPN tunnels
Performs troubleshooting and assists others as required. As such, leads problem-solving efforts often involving outside vendors and other support personnel and/or organizations.
Ensures high availability and acceptable levels of performance of mission critical network environment.
Partner with IT Security in the design, development, maintaining and enforcing procedures are followed to maintain security and protect network environment
Provides security engineering input and support through the use of firewalls, IDS/IPS, various proxy gateway and other network security devices to provide in–depth protection from cyber security threats
Oversee communication between servers
Ensuring confidentiality, availability and integrity of network hardware and software components that provide fault tolerance, load balancing and security of data utilizing network techniques.
Participates in project meetings and acts as the senior Network SME to all facets of the business and IT.
Follows and upholds the change management process to protect network from unauthorized or untested changes from occurring which can bring down or destabilize the network infrastructure.
Protect the company’s assets and financial information by ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of internal control procedures and informing management and/or appropriate officials of potential fraud risk.
This position will require the individual to be on a on-call schedule.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or a related field or equivalent experience
Minimum 5 years’ experience
Current CCNP, CCNA, MCSE, and CompTIA Network+
certification required
Strong working knowledge of the following
Routing and Switching, Security, Wireless, Data Center
Cisco Network Routers – Cisco IOS
Virtual Private Networks (VPN)
Network cabling – Punch downs, cross connects, and patch panels
Wireless Access Points
Wireless Access Controllers
VOIP Management and configuration
Cisco LAN architecture includes Ethernet, STP, VTP, VLANs, QoS, etc.
Must be familiar with most of the following
Managing and configuring a zero-trust environment
Managing and configuring/maintain network monitoring software
WAN accelerators
IDS/IPS
SD-WAN
