Responsibilities
Responsible for the installation, maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization
Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues
Provide technical support for both hardware and software issues for fellow staff
Provide documentation and technical specifications to others for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure
Setup, maintain, and delete user accounts as required
Perform regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for verification, data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures
Lead desktop and helpdesk support efforts, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions
Monitor systems daily and respond immediately to security or usability concerns
Patch and/or upgrade systems and processes as required for enhanced functionality and security issue resolution
Administrate infrastructure, including firewalls, databases, malware protection software and other processes
Qualifications and Skills
Two or more years of system administration, network administration, or database experience
Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols
Ability to communicate and work well with others
Ability to prioritize and multitask
Deadline and detail-oriented
Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
Experience with SQL databases
Ability to respond to help desk requests after hours on a limited basis
Exposure to helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols a plus
Preferred
Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience
Experience with scripting and automation tools
System administration and IT certifications in Microsoft, GNU/Linux or other network related fields
Experience provisioning and managing systems in AWS, Azure, or GCPCompany Description
