Traveling Superintendent – Nationwide

Position Overview
The Traveling Superintendent is responsible for overseeing construction operations from pre-construction through completion, ensuring project quality, timeliness, safety, and budget compliance. This individual will lead field operations, manage subcontractors and craft personnel, and uphold company safety culture on job sites nationwide.
Key Responsibilities
Project Oversight
Collaborate with Project Managers on project scopes and development
Coordinate logistics including site layout, materials, equipment, and workforce
Execute and document daily project reports
Ensure all regulatory and contractual requirements are met
Lead quality control, punch-list completion, and project closeout processes
Prepare project-specific safety/work plans and ensure adherence
Communicate consistently with internal and external stakeholders
Make schedule and scope adjustments as necessary to maintain timelines and budgets
Subcontractor Management
Supervise subcontractors, craft workers, and field staff
Enforce compliance with company policies and procedures
Scheduling
Develop and maintain work schedules and assignments
Monitor short-term and long-term project progress
Align construction activities with project milestones and deadlines
Safety
Enforce company and government safety standards (OSHA, EM385-1-1, etc.)
Promote a culture of safety on all job sites
Additional Duties
Perform other responsibilities as assigned
Frequent travel required to support job sites nationwide
Qualifications
Minimum 4+ years of experience with a commercial or industrial general contractor
Experience managing multiple trades and craft personnel
Preferred: Experience on heavy civil, infrastructure, or government (Federal/State/DOT) projects
Strong ability to read and execute specifications, drawings, and contracts
Independent decision-making, problem-solving, and team leadership skills
Ability to assess skill levels of trades and lead effectively
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, MS Project, ProCore, Adobe, and related construction tech
Strong written and verbal communication
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field is highly desired
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Frequent site travel and potential for remote work settings
Ability to work in various weather conditions and terrain
Regular standing, walking, climbing, and lifting (up to 25 lbs.)
Visual acuity for reading, color recognition, and depth perceptionCompany Description
