Senior Civil Engineer

Job Description

Since 1962 Ifland Engineers has been providing civil engineering services to thousands of private and public clients and we have an immediate opportunity for a Senior Civil Engineer who is comfortable in a client-driven environment.

At present our firm management staff is too immersed in “the weeds” to spend sufficient time on those long-range objectives that are critical to the future success of our firm.

To do that, we need someone who is capable of fielding inquiries for new work, developing scopes of services, and preparing profitable proposals. We need someone who can help manage projects and take the lead in client communications. We need someone who has experience overseeing and directing staff in designing projects that meet our clients’ goals while shielding us from liability. And we need someone who doesn’t mind “getting their hands dirty” with project design, developing specifications, and report writing.

What types of markets do we serve and what types of projects would you be responsible for managing and designing? Here’s a look:

We provide feasibility, site planning, and design services for the following markets:

· mixed use

· multi-family housing

· civic

· healthcare

· education

· office/commercial

· subdivisions

· wet utilities

· roadways

Required Experience:

· Proposal preparation

· Project management

· Client communications

· Project design utilizing Civil 3D

· Staff oversight and direction

· Preparing technical specifications

· Preparing stormwater reports and supporting calculations

· Engineers estimates

· Construction support

Qualified applicants will be PE’s licensed in California with a minimum of 7 years of experience in these areas with evidence of increasing responsibilities. This is not a position for which we are looking to provide extensive training. You must be prepared to make an immediate contribution with minimal supervision upon coming aboard.
