Ohio Gastroenterology Group is the leading provider of general advanced GI procedures with several state-of-the-art facilities throughout Central Ohio. We employ a talented team of specialists who perform more GI procedures each year than any other practice in our area.
We currently have a full-time opening for a Pathologist.
JOB TITLE: PATHOLOGIST
Job Objective: Responsible for review and diagnosis of specimens.
Office Location: Olentangy Office
FLSA Classification: Salaried, Exempt
Reports to: Board
Interfaces with: Director of Operations, Physicians, Office Managers and outside vendors/ clients/ labs.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Review and diagnosis of specimens
· Works collaboratively with pathologists, histology staff, gastroenterologists, and ancillary staff
· Maintains a 48-hour turn-around time on routine biopsies
· Complies with all safety and regulatory policies, including CLIA and OSHA
· Reports to Director of Laboratory Services
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Superior diagnostic ability in Gastrointestinal Pathology
· Excellent interpersonal communication skills, integrity, accountability, and exceptional clinical judgment
· The ability to prioritize and to handle several tasks for maximum workflow efficiency
Credentials and Experience
· Board certification in anatomic or anatomic/clinical pathology
· Eligibility for or already possess (preferred), an unrestricted Ohio medical License
· Fellowship training in gastrointestinal pathology or cytology preferred
· Two years of independent sign out experience preferred, recent fellowship graduates will be considered
· No J-1 visas can be accommodated as this time.
Physical Demands
· Must be able to sit (frequently), stand (frequently), walk (frequently), stoop (frequently), bend over (frequently)
· Must be able to independently lift 25 pounds (occasionally)
· Applies the principles of body mechanics in lifting or moving equipment (occasionally)
Work Environment
· Medical office and lab
· Must be alert and energetic with constant attention to detail and adherence to workflow demands. Attention to detail is required in the completion of activities.
· Work hours correlate with standard office hours. No weekends or call required.
