Expert Windows Engineer

Job Description

Pueo has an opportunity for an experienced TS/SCI cleared Expert Windows Engineer to join our team in Reston, VA, Hanover, MD, or Riverdale, MD. The Expert Windows Engineer is responsible for designing, testing, and implementing Windows virtual machines within the Intelligence Community (IC).

** This is an on-site role**

Responsibilities:

The candidate will design, implement, and manage Windows virtual machines in a lab environment,

The candidate will participate in the planning of infrastructure on-site in VMWare, but potentially in the cloud, suggesting strategies based on new and emerging technologies,

The candidate will install, configure, and secure Internet Information Services on Windows servers,

The candidate will take ownership of issues, collaborating with other teams and leads to resolve issues in a timely manner,

The candidate may perform routine system maintenance and resolve server-side/client-side issues as they arise,

The candidate will document system configurations, processes, and procedures, as well as maintain and update existing documentation as needed,

The candidate should mentor other team members in Linux best practices, providing guidance and support when necessary.

Required Qualifications

The candidate must have a bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience,

The candidate must have 12+ years of professional experience in system engineering with a focus on Microsoft Windows Server environments,

The candidate must have a current DoD 8570 Requirement: IAT III Certification or the ability to acquire one within a 6-month grace period,

The candidate must possess a deep understanding of Windows Server technologies, Active Directory, Group Policy, and associated management tools,

The candidate must have strong experience in PowerShell scripting or other Windows automation tools,

The candidate must have some experience installing, configuring, and securing IIS on Windows Servers,

The candidate must demonstrate knowledge of network protocols, infrastructure services, and security configurations,

The candidate must have experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Microsoft Hyper-V,

The candidate must have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a track record of delivering complex projects successfully.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ideal candidate has certifications relevant to Windows or cloud computing technologies,

Ideal candidate has Knowledge and experience with Windows virtual machines in a VMWare environment,

Ideal candidate has expert Knowledge and experience with automating Windows installations,

Ideal candidate has experience operating in a team environment, collaborating in Agile practices, and operating in Sprints or following Scrum/Kanban management processes.
