WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING (ESSENTIAL DUTIES) …

We are seeking an experienced IT Systems Engineer to join our team. This position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, across several sites throughout Rhode Island. The ideal candidate must have a proven track record of providing quality customer service and sound judgement, escalating issues as required and effectively and efficiently prioritizing tasks and projects as they present.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintains all network (physical/virtual) systems, maintaining a maximum uptime.

Maintain appropriate backup history and retention

Maintains and tests failover options for virtual, physical, and WAN networks

Applied security updates as needed and as required to keep systems safe and secure

Regularly audit and assess network configurations, Active Directory and Group policies to align with compliance regulation and company policies

Create and maintain up to date documentation on systems, network and procedures

Works collaboratively with staff to provide quick resolutions to technical issues

Monitors network usage (stats, space, WAN/LAN communication, routers, switches) and responds appropriately to issuesRequirements:

WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU…

Associates degree or equivalent experience and training. Certification a plus.

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience

Demonstrated competence with VMware, Active Directory, o365, Terminal Servers, Web Services, Various Office Products, Routers, SAN technologies, wide area networks, inter-vlan routing, and telephone systems is required.

High degree of interpersonal skills, strong oral and written communication to effectively interact with personnel at all levels

Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and adaptable to change

Troubleshoot issues when they occur

Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation to travel between locations within Rhode Island

Ability to safely lift and carry as much as 35 pounds.
