Mt Owen Glendell Operations (MGO) Mine located in the Upper Hunter Valley of New South Wales, 20 kilometres north of Singleton, contains the Mt Owen, Ravensworth East and Glendell mines. The integration of these operations enables all sites to use a single coal handling and preparation plant (CHPP) and infrastructure at Mt Owen Mine.

An excellent opportunity exists for an experienced Shotfirer to join MGO’s Blast Crew. This full-time position operates on a Monday to Friday, day-shift roster and reports directly to the Drill and Blast Supervisor.

In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient loading and firing of blast holes, ensuring full compliance with MGO’s safety protocols, site procedures, and all applicable environmental and legislative requirements.

About you:

Hold a current Blasting Explosives User’s Licence and an Unsupervised Handler’s Licence (mandatory).

Shotfiring experience in an Open Cut Coal Mine.

Understanding of NSW Coal Mining and WHS Statutory obligations.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. A proactive work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a high-performing team are essential.
