Location: El Malpais National Monument, Grants, New Mexico

Period Of Performance: Approximately 7 months - Exact dates of performance have yet to be determined.

Salary Range: $90,000 to $110,000 annually based on experience

Project Solutions Inc. is seeking an experienced Construction Management Representative for an exciting opportunity at El Malpais National Monument in Grants, New Mexico. We are always looking for hard working professionals to join our diverse workforce and gain experience on a large variety of projects.

Project/Position Overview:

The project is located at El Calderon Trail within El Malpais National Monument. The project consists of improvements to meet Architectural Barriers Act Accessibility Standards (ABAAS) within a volcanic landscape. Compliance to contract documents including structural, civil and landscape architectural plans meeting all requirements including protection of resources are key to project success. The project involves installation of a structural steel boardwalk system into Junction Cave, rehabilitation of .75 mile of El Calderon Trail to meet ABAAS and Outdoor Recreation Access Route (ORAR) standards, construction of a new amphitheater with gabion style benches set into a hillside, installation of steel and cable guardrails at 3 cave openings, steel waysides throughout the project area, improvements to gravel parking lot and road and the construction of a new trail to existing restroom building.

This role is contingent upon award.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Provide technical assistance and support to CO during construction.

Arrange, attend and facilitate a variety of meetings, including weekly meetings at the project site.

Document issues encountered and problems experienced with the construction contractor.

Review contractor's baseline and progress schedules.

Draft project related correspondence for NPS to review and issuance

Inspect the work of the construction contractor for progress, workmanship, quality and conformance with contract documents, applicable building codes and safety standards.

Deliver reports, reviews, evaluations, design work, etc. to CO.

Review and process Construction Contractor's RFIs and assist in resolution, draft response, tracking, and follow up.

Construction of permanent utility connections to potable water, sanitary sewer, and electrical services

Required Education, Knowledge and Skills:

Education and professional qualifications related to construction, architecture, and engineering preferred

5+ years related Construction Management Experience or related field required.

Experience in general construction, quality control, cost estimates, IGE development, RFP's development, schedule, safety, project management software, record-keeping, computer literate and good communication skills.

Minimum of OSHA 30-hour construction safety training required.

Knowledge in construction practices including applicable building codes, applicable safety regulations, cost breakdown estimating and negotiating, and technical writing.

Knowledge of cost estimating with breakdown of labor, materials and equipment costs for proposed construction contract modifications.

Ability to read and interpret plans, schedules, and other specifications.

The ability to understand and document negotiations between the Government and the Construction Contractor for the technical scope requirements, prime and subcontractor labor, equipment, material, overhead and profit

Written and verbal communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills

Knowledge of software including Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and any other software for the project

Maintain a valid driver's license.

Qualified applicant must be able to pass a background check.

Ability to walk or climb on a daily basis to observe contract performance.

Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of individuals.

Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced work environment
