Exciting Opportunity for Advanced Practice Providers!

Join the dynamic Surgical Critical Care team at Backus Hospital, the sole trauma center located east of the Connecticut River. This unique role allows you, as an Advanced Practice Provider (APP), to play a pivotal part in shaping our culture and processes, fostering a collaborative and effective work environment.

You will be a crucial member of our multidisciplinary team, delivering exceptional care to complex surgical and trauma patients in critical care and stepdown units. Responsibilities include rounding and performing medical procedures, allowing for professional development and skill enhancement as our clinical team continues to grow.

Position Highlights:

Role: Open to Acute Care Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants

Setting: Inpatient, surgical critical care

Schedule: Full-time, working three 13.5-hour shifts, rotating between days and nights, including weekends and holidays

Call Schedule: No call required

About the Role:

Your duties will include performing routine physical examinations, formulating comprehensive medical, educational, and psychosocial plans for treating patients. You will collaborate closely with physicians and care team members to develop appropriate health needs evaluations and referrals, while providing treatment within your scope of practice.

Qualifications:

Licensure: Unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License (or eligible)

Training: Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

Experience: New Graduates are welcome to apply. Preferred experience includes a minimum of two years post-graduate experience as an APRN or PA, ideally in critical care or surgical/trauma settings.
