Job Description
We are seeking a Preschool and school-age Lead Teacher to join our organization! This individual will plan and present age-appropriate activities for children.
Responsibilities:
Instruct Preschool and School-age children in activities designed to promote intellectual and creative growth
Create a fun and safe learning environment
Develop schedules and routines to ensure adequate physical activity, rest, and playtime
Establish and maintain positive relationships with students and parents
Communicate with parents on students' growth and progress
Maintain the health and safety of all students
Documentation of Children must be put into Teaching Strategies
Maintain accurate, complete, and timely client and agency records; Complete daily meal and attendance records.
Develops, weekly plans, and implements age-appropriate curriculum (lesson plan) to
nurture and stimulate all domains of children’s development in their care.
Completes daily health checks regarding hygiene, safety, and overall well-being of the children.
Assures a healthy, safe, clean, and developmentally appropriate environment for children.
Ensures that the Associate Teacher and Assistant Teachers are kept updated in all matters concerning the classroom and program, i.e. Lead Teacher Meetings, lesson plans, policies procedures, and training received.
Participate in ongoing in-service and educational development opportunities provided by the Action for Children Agency.
The Lead Teacher is also responsible for assuring compliance with the codes of all State and local governing contracting agencies; and works collegially with other staff members
Completes yearly child performance evaluations.

Qualifications:
Previous experience in childcare, teaching, or other related fields
Passionate about working with children
Ability to build rapport with children
Positive and patient demeanor
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
EDUCATION
A Lead Teacher must possess an Associate, Baccalaureate, or Advanced Degree in Early Childhood Education: or Associate, Baccalaureate, or Advanced Degree with equivalent coursework (18 Early Childhood Education credit hours).
