Shipping and Receiving Manager

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Manage daily shipping and receiving operations, including scheduling, staffing, and workflow optimization

Supervise warehouse staff and provide leadership, training, and performance evaluations

Ensure accurate processing of all incoming and outgoing shipments

Maintain inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts and reconciliation

Coordinate with transportation providers to optimize delivery schedules and costs

Implement and enforce safety protocols and compliance requirements

Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reduction

Resolve shipment discrepancies and quality issues promptly

Generate and analyze operational reports to track performance metrics

Qualifications

3+ years of supervisory experience in warehouse or logistics operations

Strong understanding of shipping procedures and inventory management systems

Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills

Effective communication and team leadership abilities

Experience with warehouse management software

Forklift certification preferred

Bachelor's degree in logistics, business, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally

Capacity to stand/walk for extended periods throughout the workdayCompany Description
