We are seeking a skilled and experienced Plastics Engineer with a strong background in polymer science, specifically with expertise in High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) and plastic composite formulations. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the development, testing, and optimization of our plastic products, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
Role and Responsibilities
· Product Development: Design, develop, and optimize plastic products, with a focus on HDPE materials and plastic composite formulations, to meet customer and market requirements.
· Material Selection: Evaluate and select appropriate polymer materials for various applications, ensuring sustainability and performance.
· Testing and Analysis: Conduct material testing and analysis to ensure product performance, quality, durability, and compliance with industry standards.
· Process Optimization: Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize production processes, improve efficiency, and reduce waste.
· Research and Innovation: Stay updated with the latest advancements in polymer science, HDPE technologies, and plastic composite formulations, and apply this knowledge to drive innovation in product development.
· Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure consistent product quality and performance.
· Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to achieve project goals and timelines.
· Performs other duties as assigned.Requirements:
Required Skills and Abilities
· Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of polymer science, material properties, composite theory, and processing techniques. Proficiency in CAD software and material testing equipment.
· Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
· Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
· Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work.
Education and Experience
· Education: Bachelor's degree in Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
· Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in plastics engineering, with specific expertise in HDPE and plastic composite formulations preferred.
Physical Requirements
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Periods of standing, moving, walking the lines and observing improvement opportunities.
